Some of the biggest breakthroughs in my personal and professional life have been on account of people I’ve met who have supported me – and shared their wisdom to help me grow, learn and do exciting things.
As I’ve gotten better at writing and growth marketing over the years, I’ve wanted to give back – to share with others some of what I have known and learnt over the years. As I’ve reached out to people to share my experiences, I’ve found it incredibly rewarding to see *them* benefit and grow. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk to people who’re doing interesting, challenging work that I’ve continued to learn from.
I want to continue to meet with, share with and learn from people doing interesting & amazing work – so I’m holding office hours to meet people I’m excited by. I have these conversations in two formats:
a. Lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1230pm at the restaurant The Smith on 1150 Broadway.
b. Skype conversations at 10am ET on weekends.
If you’d like to talk to me about biz, writing or life, I’d love to get to speak to you – and to get to know you.
Here are a few things people often ask me about…
I’ve grown & scaled three hit apps(Bingo Bash, a top 10 grossing app on iPad for much of 2013 & 2014, Daily Celebrity Crossword, whose DAUs grew 7x in under a year and Crosswords With Friends, which hit the top 10 ranks on iTunes after launch) – and helped make these into sustainable businesses(Bash Gaming was acquired by GSN Games for $170 million in March 2014 & PuzzleSocial was acquired by Zynga in July 2016).
In the past, I grew a digital agency 9x over 2 years, set up an APAC-wide campaigns team for a mobile ad network.
I’ve helped grow businesses that could afford to spend no more than a few hundred dollars a month – and I’ve managed 7 figure monthly performance marketing budgets. (More importantly, having seen those extremes helps me point the way for you to get from a few hundred dollars a month to multi-million dollar budgets. It’s not easy, and it’s not quick. Yet, I understand enough to outline a step-by-step process for getting there).
I have a lot of perspective to offer on starting, growing and scaling a business – and making sense of it all with numbers.
In a past life, I used to edit the travel section for Mint Lounge(Wall Street Journal India). Here are my greatest hits.
I’ve performed in Improv and storytelling shows across NYC, including the Moth’s live events. Here is the video of a story I’ve performed at the Moth.
